On the Day of Architecture of Ukraine, which is celebrated annually on July 1, we would like to recognize several talented architects who have become famous for their projects on the international architectural scene.

Architecture is an important part of human existence. Architectural structures not only give beauty and attract tourists, but also create comfort for local residents who can proudly observe the landmarks of their city or region.

Today, Ukrainian cities are home to many buildings that can be classified as architectural art, but not many people can name the people who created these buildings. 

Mykola Levchuk

Levchuk is a contemporary architect who has become known for his work in the reconstruction and restoration of historic buildings. 

The Ukrainian has also created unique projects that combine modern technology and style with the environment and cultural context. His most famous works include the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and the Lev Tolstoy Square metro station.

Alexander Dolnik, Sergey Pishchany and Valentin Bogmanov

These people may not be the most famous architects, but they created the business card of the city of Dnipro - the Towers complex, which is popularly nicknamed the Ukrainian Manhattan.

The facility consists of two twin towers, which at the time of construction were the tallest buildings in Ukraine, and two residential complexes.

The height of the two residential buildings is 126 meters.

Vyacheslav Balbek

Ukrainian architect, co-founder of the 2 B Group workshops, author of design projects for several popular restaurants and other establishments in Kyiv. However, the architect's team has also worked on foreign projects, including the 906 World Cultural Center in San Francisco, California, USA.

This complex includes a three-level residential building converted into a coworking space, an old church converted into a modern assembly hall, and a separate educational center.

Vasyl Krychevsky

Vasyl Krychevsky, a famous architect and graphic artist, is considered the founder of Ukrainian Art Nouveau. At the beginning of the twentieth century, he created the Poltava Provincial Zemstvo building, which became his outstanding creative achievement. The building's facades were decorated with exquisite décor that harmoniously combined elements of folk art. On the ceramic-tiled walls, you can see the coats of arms of Poltava and county towns, rosettes and compositions based on the Ukrainian symbol of the "tree of life".

Krychevskyi is also the author of the House of Writers in Kyiv, known as Rolit. This project has become one of his most significant and recognized. He also developed the final design of the Taras Shevchenko Museum in Kaniv, which has become an important cultural site. Another of his achievements was the design of Mykhailo Hrushevsky's house in Kyiv.

There are only a few people on this list who have written their names in the history of architecture. There are many talented individuals in Ukraine who glorify our country both at home and abroad.
