Stone Village, Zhytomyr region

According to one, the boulders were brought by a glacier, according to the other, they are the remains of the foot of ancient, completely disappeared mountains, exposed by the glacier from soil layers.

Several myths and legends have arisen around the tract. The name "Stone Village" originated from one such legend, which says that once there was a rich village in the forest. One day, an old man in poor clothes passed through it and asked the owner of the rich household for bread. The latter waved his hand at him: "Go away, man, I have no time for you." The old man, who turned out to be the Lord Himself, who had descended to earth, left the village, looked around, and the village was immediately petrified. On one of the stones where he had been resting, there was a trace of a giant bare foot.

Dykanka, Poltava region

Dykanka is not a village, but has the status of an urban-type settlement. The village in Ukraine became especially famous for the works of the writer Nikolai Gogol.

Many places and characters from these works were inspired by real events and residents of Dykanka.
