Die Regeln für Journalisten, die in Kampfgebieten arbeiten, haben sich geändert. Erfahren Sie mehr darüber, wie und wo Medienvertreter arbeiten dürfen
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, issued an order changing the working conditions for journalists in combat zones. The frontline areas are now divided into zones. Read more about this below.
From now on, three zones have been introduced in combat zones, which are divided into green, yellow and red.
Green zone
In this zone, journalists are allowed to work in a free format without the presence of a press officer. Journalists need only inform the relevant military grouping or local military administration of their intentions.
Yellow zone
Allows journalists to work, but only if accompanied by a press officer.
Red zone
Prohibits the work of journalists in any format.
It is noted that the zones will be updated weekly. They will be revised depending on changing circumstances. At the same time, media representatives will be provided with the maximum possible assistance.
The Armed Forces emphasize that the work of the media and journalists is particularly important, so the military is in no way trying to deliberately create restrictions during martial law.
What other changes can journalists expect?
The order of the Commander-in-Chief also expanded the list of information, the disclosure of which may lead to the enemy's awareness of the actions of the Armed Forces and the Defense Forces, which will negatively affect the performance of combat missions.
In particular, the list has been supplemented with restrictions and prohibitions on the dissemination of information about the results of missile strikes, the movement of weapons and ammunition, the movement or location of the Defense Forces, the location of air defense assets and units.
There are also restrictions that must be observed during the display of foreign-made weapons and equipment provided by partner countries.
In addition, a six-month accreditation period for media representatives has been introduced, and the design of the accreditation card has changed slightly. It now has two QR codes with a link to the working conditions for journalists in both Ukrainian and English.
The accreditation process takes up to a month, as it involves not only the Armed Forces, but also various components of the law enforcement system. Usually, the procedure is faster.
We remind you! During martial law, the border of Ukraine is open to foreign citizens. However, those who wish to come should know the current entry and security rules. Learn more about insurance in Ukraine in times of war and border crossing rules here.
