Yes, the financial aid program closes on January 31, 2023. No more payments will be sent after this date. In addition, program participants are encouraged to withdraw all balances held on their IFRC VISA or MoneyGram cards.

What help can Ukrainians expect in Slovakia?

Despite the closure of the Red Cross program, Slovakia continues to provide Ukrainians with payments for material needs.

You can apply for this assistance at the nearest Labor Center in Slovakia. To do this, it is necessary to contact the center with a foreigner's card with a request for temporary asylum.

Refugees from Ukraine have the right to receive basic benefits and under the same conditions as citizens of the Slovak Republic.

What amount of aid can be paid to refugees from Ukraine?

From January 1, 2023, changes were made to the law on the payment of benefits. Now, the payments for refugees will be as follows:

- 74.00 euros per month for an individual;

- 140.70 euros per month for a person with a child or up to four children;

- 128.60 euros per month for a couple without children;

- 192.40 euros per month for a couple with a child or up to four children;

- 205.50 euros per month for a person with more than four children;

- 259.40 euros per month for a couple with more than four children.

In addition, Ukrainians may receive protective allowances:

• 75.70 euros per month - to persons who are engaged in the household and for objective reasons cannot provide or increase their income, because:

- the person has reached retirement age or is disabled;

- due to a decrease in the ability to work by more than 70%;

- the person is a single parent who takes care of the child all day and properly until the 31st week of life;

- a person takes care of a disabled individual who is dependent on care;

- a person participates in resocialization programs in the form of accommodation, within the limits of which he cannot - provide income through his own work;

- is a recipient of an early old-age pension.

• 41.60 euros per month can be received by:

- pregnant women from the beginning of the eighth week until the expected date of delivery, determined by the doctor;

- an individual who has an unfavorable state of health and is temporarily unable to work due to illness or injury, or is in quarantine for more than 30 days;

• 16.20 euros per month can be received by:

- pregnant women from the beginning of the fourth month;

- parents who take care of a child (up to one year) full-time.

Also, the allowance for a dependent child is 20.70 euros per month.
