Rules of entry to Cyprus

Citizens of Ukraine can enter the territory of Cyprus with a Ukrainian biometric international passport. With it, you can stay here for up to 90 days without obtaining temporary protection, but in this case the local authorities will not provide you with any assistance, because you will be considered a tourist.

Also, Ukrainians fleeing the war can enter Cyprus with one of the internal documents confirming the identity and citizenship of Ukraine (passport booklet or ID card, etc.).

In order to legally stay in Cyprus for a longer period, you must obtain the status of temporary protection (Temporary Protection).

How to apply for temporary protection in Cyprus?

Temporary protection is provided by the Asylum Service. You can apply in person to the migration department or online on the website. Please note that in order to fill out the application for temporary protection status, you need to have a local mobile number, that is, you need to purchase a Cypriot SIM card.

After reviewing your documents, you will receive a status assignment letter. After receiving the letter, you need to go to the immigration office in your area within 48 hours to get a residence permit.

Cash payments

For Ukrainians with temporary protection, a one-time benefit of €340 is provided. But if you are with a family, the amount will be different. In order to receive payments, you need to fill out a form and indicate a local phone number, which will call you and tell you when to come for the payment.

Medicine

Public schools provide Ukrainian children with free education. Documents can be submitted through the education department of your region and the child will be placed in the nearest school at the place of residence.
