The Ministry of Reintegration of Ukraine introduced a number of changes regarding checks of the place of residence of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and payments to displaced persons in 2023.

Inspections of the place of residence of IDPs. What has changed?

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, noted that one of the tasks of the Ministry is to prevent discrimination during random inspections of the place of residence of displaced persons.

Thus, no checks will be carried out at this time.

"As a state, we are obliged to monitor the targeted use of funds. At the same time, we cannot allow people who are in dire need of financial assistance to be subject to inspections or mistakenly get rid of this assistance", - she emphasized.

However, there is an exception! The appeal of the law enforcement authorities to the social protection authorities of the population regarding the inconsistency of the place of residence provides grounds for checking the address of residence. The person who will be checked will be notified in advance by phone. Other cases are not grounds for inspection.

Continuation of payments for internally displaced persons

Payments for IDPs will be automatically extended from January 1, 2023. Social assistance recipients do not need to reapply for continued benefits. They will be extended automatically as long as Ukraine is under martial law.

Thus, there is no need to visit the Center for the provision of administrative services or other social protection bodies.

The following categories of citizens can receive payments:

• Persons living in temporarily occupied territories;

• Persons living in the territories where hostilities are taking place;

• IDPs receiving benefits.

Proof of financial status is not required to receive financial assistance. It is indefinite and will be provided from the month when the person applied for assistance.
